I avoid getting out the heavy winter coats as long as possible (most likely my continued denial that winter is coming). In the meantime, layers are needed to brave through cooler, sometimes dreary, days of fall. This combo provided that, and also made me feel a bit like a bada**. One step closer to a motorcycle?
The formula for what I want to accomplish is a cozy top/sweater (preferably a turtleneck for extra warmth, or a scarf), light but warm jacket, and boots (to keep legs warm). The jacket is warm, but fitted and functional. Pairing it with this cowl neck top was the perfect combo. The over-the-knee boots were a perfect for both warmth, and a compliment for the look I was going for.
I purchased these boots, by Blondo, last year. It was my first using this brand, I was intrigued because they are a weatherproof suede. I tend to shy away from buying suede shoes for winter, because if it is wet one, I won’t be able to wear them (and this has happened to me more than I like). I am very pleased, not only weatherproof, but they are very comfortable (no breaking in needed). As a petite, they fit over-the-knee as they are supposed to, but are not overly tall on short legs.
The jacket is not petite, but has a slim fit, and the little bit of extra length in the sleeves doesn’t bother me. It is also faux leather, making it more affordable, and an additional option for those that do not want to wear real leather. The zipper details give it that little bit of extra edge. There are multiple colors available, as well as other similar styles from this same brand, which I continue to eye up.
