I am loving the floral maxi trend for winter dresses, and have wanted one for awhile. For the past styles I have tried I ultimately end up sending them back because of fit, or overall look. As anyone reading this that is petite can relate – one of our fashion challenges – trying to find a long dress that is the right length (Is it too much to ask not to have to alter everything?).
For the floral maxi, after finding the right fit, getting a pattern, or the overall styling, to not overwhelm my frame, was the next challenge. On top of that, I have realized that my significant other does not get this trend, so there is no hesitation from him to encourage returning, when I’m wondering aloud “Hmm, not sure about this dress”. He doesn’t get this trend, but, I love it – so its a keeper.
The length and overall fit, is perfect, no altering was needed. The waste is tailored, without being overly blousy, and it does not need a belt. It is fully lined (except for sleeves), so you do not have to find additional layers hide see-through areas. I paired with a knee high boot, but a sock bootie would also work.
